I have become an addict… internet addict
I don’t know since when, I started to lose my life

I woke up searching my smartphone - sliding, browsing from few minutes to few
hours before I officially get off from my bed
After bathing, first thing I do when I get into the room is not putting my clothes on but sliding my smartphone again
Wherever I go, Whatever I do, I am facing my phone

I don’t understand, sometime I look at the same thing over and over again
And the worst thing is the time before sleep, I play with my phone every night, ups to few hours until my eyes couldn't hold it anymore
I don’t think this is normal
I don’t think this is good
I don’t think this is healthy
I waste so much time on my gadgets
To the extent I cannot count it anymore
My life is in the mess
My room is in the mess
My workloads are stacking up
I feel tired and exhausted without having single job done
I feel extremely guilty and useless but can’t help
If anyone is in the same boat as me
I think is time for us to change
I look out for steps to avoid internet addiction

1)Admit that you are an Internet addict
To the extent I cannot count it anymore

The theory is the same as relationship, if u want to get over something, the
first thing you have to bear in mind is to realise the truth that is “it is
over”. This is simple and it sound so much like a bullshit but seriously, many
people didn’t realise the difference and importance of getting know something
and truly understand something.
2)Desire to change
Agree that your addiction has become an issue and you are desire to change.
3)Stop swinging. Be certain with what you want. Have an ambition in mind that I can do it!!!

If you are a student like me, then do your assignment and study. Keep yourself away from all the gadgets. If you need assist from your gadgets and internet, look up at ONLY related topic u want. Do not let yourself browsing some irrelevant pages especially the addictive ones. For information, always copy all the text and save it in a file and the best print it out. This will stop you from using the internet so often. It also prevents you from drifting to another page
5)Get a hobby that doesn’t involve the internet and gadgets

I know this is tough but try to recall how u live your life before the
existence of internet. There is a lot more than internet. Outdoor games that
make you feel alive. Beautiful beaches and nature that grab your heart.

gadgets away. First day is tough. Second day is torturing. Third day is the
worst. But slowly, it becomes a habit. Don’t be someone who mess up your
sleeping pattern and lose your sleep while on the internet.

Set timer when you are using internet.
Remember to take time for your routine (eat, sleep, go to the bathroom and so on)
Honestly, life should not be scheduled and planned, you don’t have to follow exactly, it is just a reminder to yourself. What do you want to do today and what do you want to avoid today. You know it the best what do you want!!
